Shellers
The Shellers are known for their robust design. They are manufactured from cast iron and steel, and are built to process maize under demanding African climate. The Shellers are simple to operate. The cobs are placed in the inlet hopper and they are shelled in the sheller drum. The maize then is dispensed through the centre kicker into bags or a bulk pit, the remains are kicked out at the end of the sheller into a pile.
The Shellers are available in four different models.
Exclusive features common to all models are :
- 6 x quick release clamps secure the drum casing, this saves time when changing screens or for maintenance.
- The screen may be changed without removing the shelling drum.
- Construction is extremely rugged and gives the Sheller many years of service.
- Ball bearings are fitted to the main drum and are easily replaceable.
- Two control gates in the drum cover maintain an even feed, reducing wastage to a minimum.
- Main shaft is extended either end to allow main drive pulley to be changed over according to the direction of feed required.
HAND MAIZE SHELLER
This Sheller is the only one in our range which is hand operated. Its is primarily used in rural areas where there is a need for light portable units. This Sheller has a capacity of up to 250 Kg/H, it is easy to operate and a low cost to purchase as well as maintain.
PLAIN MAIZE SHELLER
This Sheller may be powered by an electric motor ( 7.5kW ), Petrol or Diesel. Another drive option is PTO with three point linkage for transporting in the fields. This option is normally used if the customer needs to feed the maize into a bulk pit where he will then be placing into bulk storage. The capacity of the sheller is around 3 tons per hour.
SHELLER WITH KICKER
This unit uses the same drive options as the “Plain” model. The only difference between the “Plain” option and this is the kicker which is used to bag maize. The kicker is placed at the outlet of the sheller and moves the maize via a duct to a two way bagging unit where the maize is then bagged.
ELEVA CLEANER
The Eleva Cleaner is a unit that is fitted to the “Plain” option and is driven by a cog. The shelled maize is dispensed into the cleaner and passes over 2 screens, this separating the smalls and the large particles from the good maize which is bagged off at the end of the cleaner into a two way bagger.
PEANUT SHELLER
This is a manual unit that removes the outer casing of the peanut, used mostly in rural communities. A 2kW motor may optionally be attached for higher capacity.
